Selfie verification confirms that you are a real person and that your profile photos genuinely show you. You take a live selfie which is compared to your profile photo by our team.
Once approved, you receive a ✅ Verified badge that shows on your profile — letting other users know you're real.
App → Profile → Get Verified → take your selfie. Make sure you're in good lighting, facing the camera clearly, and not wearing sunglasses. Our team reviews within 24 hours.
Common rejection reasons:
- Photo too dark or blurry
- Face not clearly visible
- Selfie doesn't match your profile photos
- Wearing sunglasses or heavy filters
You can resubmit immediately after rejection.
NIN (National Identity Number) verification is an optional extra layer of trust. Providing your NIN earns you the 🏅 Gold Verified badge — the highest trust level on MyPerson.
Your NIN is encrypted and never shared with other users.
Absolutely not. Your NIN is stored encrypted, used only for identity verification, and never displayed to or shared with any other user. It's only visible to authorised MyPerson staff.
Verified profiles get significantly more matches and swipes — users trust verified profiles more. Verification also unlocks certain premium features and protects you from impersonation.
Swipe right (or tap the heart) to like someone. Swipe left (or tap the X) to pass. If they also like you back, it's a match and you can start chatting.
Free users get 10 swipes per day. Premium users get unlimited swipes.
This can happen if:
- Your distance/age filters are too narrow — try expanding them
- You've run out of profiles in your area (we're growing!)
- Your profile is incomplete — more complete profiles get shown to more people
- You've used all your daily swipes
Seeing who liked you requires a Premium plan. Free users can see that they have likes but not who specifically. Upgrade to Premium to unlock this feature.
The Rewind feature lets you undo your last swipe. It's available in the Premium and Premium Plus plans. Tap the ⟲ button after swiping to undo.
Yes. You can adjust your distance settings in Preferences to match with people nationwide, or set a specific distance range around your location.
If a match disappears, it means either you or them unmatched (deleted the match). Unfortunately once unmatched, the conversation and match cannot be restored.
We accept all Nigerian debit and credit cards through Paystack and Flutterwave, including cards from GTBank, Access Bank, UBA, Zenith, First Bank, FCMB, Stanbic IBTC and more. All prices are in Naira — no USD conversion needed.
LuckyCoins are MyPerson's in-app currency. You can buy coin packs and use them to send gifts to matches, boost your profile, send Super Likes, and tip during live streams. 1 coin = ₦10 for withdrawal purposes.
App → Coins tab → Buy Coins. Choose your preferred coin pack and pay with your Nigerian card. Coins are added to your balance instantly after payment.
Yes — content creators and hosts can withdraw coin earnings. App → Coins → Withdraw. Minimum withdrawal is 200 coins. A 15% platform fee applies. Withdrawals are processed within 24-48 hours to your Nigerian bank account.
First, refresh the app and wait 5 minutes — sometimes there's a short delay. If the issue persists, email hello@myperson.ng with your payment reference number and we'll resolve it immediately.
No. MyPerson never stores your card details. All payments are processed by Paystack and Flutterwave — PCI-DSS compliant payment processors. We only receive a transaction reference, never your card number.
Inside the app: open the person's profile → tap the three dots (⋮) → Report. Or visit myperson.ng/report directly. Every report is reviewed by our team within 24 hours.
Open their profile → tap the three dots (⋮) → Block. A blocked user cannot see your profile, send you messages, or appear in your discovery feed. You also disappear from theirs.
We only show your state/city — never your exact GPS coordinates. Distance shown to other users is approximate (e.g. "within 10km") not your precise location. You can also disable distance visibility in Settings.
By default, your profile is visible to all users on MyPerson. You can set your profile to Private (visible only to your matches) or use Incognito Mode (Premium Plus) to browse without being seen.
We collect what's needed to provide the service: name, email, phone, photos, location (city level), and profile details you provide. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Always meet in public places for first dates. Use our Venue Booking feature to meet at verified, public locations. Tell a friend or family member where you're going. Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave.
Our Meetup Escrow feature also helps ensure both parties are serious about showing up.
